For my ninth adventure I would like to talk about Grouse Mountain, a place where nature and modern civilization meet. However, I would like to talk specifically about the Zipline experience there.
Grouse Mountain is a mountain located in North Vancouver, and hosts various activities like the Grouse Grind, where you climb up steps to reach the summit. It is often referred to as nature’s staircase, as it is not a completely natural trail, and has many man made components.
My reason for visiting however, was not because of the Grouse Grind or any other activity but rather the Ziplining activities that exist there.
I had purchased an annual pass at the start of the season and was able to go Ziplining twice there.

The first time they were running a 50% promotion, and I was able to save my bundled Zipline until later in the season.
Once you sign up for the activity, you go to the outside chalet area where the guides check you in and you suit up.
After suiting up they walk you through on how to stop safely and safety information that you may need.
Then, you walk around the mountain to the various Zipline points and zip across them.
There are 5 lines included in your experience.
Line 1 – Basic trial run, very short
Line 2 – Slightly longer and faster, has camera for photos
Line 3 – Over a pond, decently long, has a surprise element
Hike to ski lift to reach lines 4 and 5
Line 4 – Fastest and steepest line
Line 5 – Longest, and must do bullet position, goes over two mountaintops
Personally, I enjoyed line 4 the most, as it was the fastest and most exhilarating experience.

I must also note that I always felt very safe, as they would double triple check everything before sending you off.
All in all, I would say it is worth it if you can get a discount like I did at the beginning of the season, or else just go once. If you go more than one time in a short period of time like I did, it is not as fun as you feel like you’re forced to be there. You will already know everything about the lines and that detracts from the experience.
